As a company with combined experience of over 20 years in the industry, we can appreciate that when it comes to signage there are A LOT of different options to choose from. Materials including Perspex acrylic, Foamex, Dibond and Correx, what's so good about each material? When should you use a certain material, and why? We are here to answer all of your questions on signage.
Perspex acrylic is a premium grade acrylic made from pure monomer (not cheaper recycled acrylic). Perspex is the brand name, whilst acrylic is the material. Here at Displays UK we are Perspex approved distributors and Perspex approved fabricators, so we only use the best! Perspex acrylic has a 10 year UV guarantee, is 92% optically clear and is 10 times more lightweight than glass, making it a safe and versatile material for both indoor and outdoor signage! We have facilities here in house to cut Perspex to any shape or size for signage, as shown in the top left photo above! We also have a large, state of the art flatbed printer which allows us to print directly to the acrylic, providing a sharper and more professional finish for printed signage. We can print frosted, clear and coloured acrylic. Perspex acrylic is perspex for both indoor and outdoor use, and is ideal for wall mounted more permanent signage at your location! Foamex is a lightweight and versatile, exterior grade material which is ideal for more temporary signage, such as for one off events, shell schemes, health and safety signs, site boards, hoarding panels and more! Foamex is strong and sturdy despite how light weight it is, and can be used both indoors and outdoors to suit you. The flexible plastic material can be easily fixed to any surface, such as being screwed directly to walls, post mounted or stuck to a suitable surface. Like Perspex acrylic, we can cut this material to any shape or size to suit your design, and we can use our flatbed printer to print directly to the face of the material for a high quality finish and end product. Foamex signage is popular for use as for sale signs, hoarding panels, heath and safety signs at construction sites, retail signs and more! Click here to view our Printed Foamex Signs page!
Dibond is a lightweight yet rigid material which is made from a combination of 3mm thick aluminium face and a polythene plastic core, making for an extremely tough and long lasting signage solution! This hard wearing material is a great low cost solution, with a more permanent appearance. Similar to Perspex and Foamex, this material can be screwed to the wall and wall mounted using stand off fixings. Dibond is also printed on our large format flatbed printer which prints directly to the face of the material to provide a high quality finish. We can cut Dibond to any shape or size, so don't be put off if you have an out of the box design in mind! Whilst this material is weatherproof, it can be used outside and inside your premises. Ideal for schools, colleges, universities, offices, hotels, hoarding panels and more! Click here to visit our Printed Dibond Signs page!
Dibond is also widely used to create a popular outdoor signage solution, which is Dibond Sign Trays! Dibond Sign Trays provide a professional and high end image to any retail, corporate, charity, office or public sector establishment. The projected 3D style looks far more superior to a standard flat panel sign. Printed again with your custom branding and artwork, these sign trays are a brilliant signage solution if you want to take it that little bit further! Easy DIY installation wall signs with no visible fixings to the front face for a flawless end product. Click here to view our Printed Dibond Sign Trays page!
Correx signs are perfect for temporary or one-off signage solutions! This cost effective signage used 4mm thick fluted correx material, which is extremely lightweight yet strong, and also completely weatherproof! Correx signage is popular for use on estate agent signs such as 'To Let' or 'For Sale', also for protest placards, election signage, lamp post signage, health and safety signs and more! Correx signs, as per the other materials, are printed on our flat bed printer directly to the material to avoid any chipping or peeling of the print and to provide a high quality finish. Correx is extremely lightweight, making them easy to move around to suit your display and advertisement. Click here to view our Printed Correx Signs page!
We hope that this little break down of all of our signage options makes it easier for you to move forward with that new signage project at your premises! Let us know if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help! Love, the Displays UK team x
